Fitness Program Manager

Part-Time job: 10 hours/week

Reports to: Fitness Committee

Pay: $20/hour

 

Looking for a friendly, helpful, detail-oriented individual to manage our fitness program. We have a small gym, 14 weekly classes, and two outdoor pickleball courts. When on-site (roughly 8 hours/week), this person will be greeting members and helping them with any membership issues. Comfort with email and computer technology is necessary. During downtime at the front desk, you will be expected to answer any fitness-related questions via email, post playtimes and clinics for pickleball (seasonal), address any building or equipment maintenance issues, and manage memberships. The ideal candidate would have a fitness background and be able to assist those with questions about using the equipment. A friendly and patient attitude is a must, as there will be frequent interaction with members. The other 2 “off-site” hours are reserved for a daily check-in with email to address last-minute class cancellations and membership issues. 

 

Duties include

-Host front desk for 8 hours/week Monday-Thursday, exact times TBD. 

-Manage fitness memberships through gym management software. 

-Record class attendance and number of classes each teacher teaches using gym management software. 

-Create and submit end-of-the-month invoices for teacher payroll.

-Communicate with teachers regarding any updates, scheduling or policy changes. 

-Manage Smart Lock System and provide door codes for members. 

-Manage pickleball clinics, court reservations, leagues (seasonal).

-Class schedule management including teacher subbing and cancellations. 

-Provide photos and communicate relevant fitness-related updates to the marketing team for social media.

-Monitor and wipe down gym equipment & report maintenance issues. 

-Light cleaning, and overseeing building maintenance including stocking supplies. 

-Organize occasional workshops.

 

Qualifications

-Friendly, patient, and adaptable.

-Strong computer skills, comfort with email, and a willingness to learn our management software.

-Good written and verbal skills.  

-Strong preference for someone with fitness management experience.

-Must be able to lift & move cleaning supplies, boxes, folding chairs and other items.
