The Play That Goes Wrong

Arlington Common Community Theater, by arrangement with Concord Theatrics on behalf of Dramatists Play Service, is pleased to present The Play That Goes Wrong, a comedic play by Henry Lewis, Henry Shields, and Jonathan Sayer. The story is centered around an amateur drama society’s disastrous opening night of a 1920’s murder mystery, “The Murder at Haversham Manor”. The production descends into chaos with actors forgetting lines, props failing, and technical mishaps, but the cast struggles hilariously to keep the show going to its final curtain call. A play within a play that is a farcical, slapstick comedy about the perils of live theater. We’ve assembled a stellar cast of locals under the direction of Tim Rice that is sure to bring the laughs.

Performance dates are June 5, 6,1 2, and 13 at 7:30 PM with a matinee on Sunday, June 7 at 2 PM at the Arlington Common Performance Hall. We will also offer a “dinner and a show” option on Saturday, June 6th . Dinner will be at 6 PM in the Watkins House prior to the show for $50 (show ticket is included).

Tickets are $15 and are available at the door or at the link below.  Tickets for “dinner and a show” on June 6th are limited and must be purchased online.
