The Impact of the Battenkill River on Famous Local Artists: A Presentation by Don Trachte Jr.

The Battenkill has long been a sanctuary for world-class artists, but the stories behind the canvas are often as compelling as the art itself. Join Don Trachte Jr. for an intimate journey through the lives and works of the legendary creators who called this valley home.

As a gifted storyteller and the son of a renowned illustrator, Don offers a unique "behind-the-scenes" perspective on Arlington's artistic heritage. He will share personal insights into how this landscape inspired a movement of American realism and sporting art that remains iconic today. Discover the hidden histories of the masters who walked these same riverbanks, including Norman Rockwell, Ogden Pleisner, and John Atherton.

Presentation, followed by Q&A.

This presentation is free and open to the public. There will be no on-campus parking available due to the ongoing Fly Fishing Festival, so please allow for plenty of time to park. (However there will be limited handicapped spaces available.)

For an extra treat, enjoy a Barbecue Chicken Dinner after Don’s presentation. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time and can be found at the link below.
